Share
Overview
Cardboard Mill partnered with Graffiti Group to deliver a sustainable, interactive experience for the Metro Tunnel Mini Golf Activation. This activation invited participants to navigate a custom-designed mini golf course, with obstacles inspired by Melbourne’s iconic buildings in light of the new stations.
Our Role
We designed and manufactured key elements of the activation, including:
- A mini golf course featuring obstacles styled after Melbourne’s famous landmarks
- Branded tables to display flyers and marketing materials
- Custom stools and seating for attendees
- Signage to enhance visibility and reinforce messaging
- Walls to display the branded graphics
By using high-recycled-content cardboard, biodegradable adhesives, and organic inks, we ensured that every element aligned with our commitment to sustainable creativity.
The Challenge
The activation needed to be:
- Sturdy yet lightweight, making setup and pack-down efficient
- Fully recyclable and environmentally responsible
- Branded cohesively to enhance the Metro Tunnel’s and Graffiti Group’s messaging
The Solution
We developed a modular, easy-to-assemble mini golf course that seamlessly incorporated Melbourne’s most recognisable buildings and landmarks as obstacles. The custom tables provided an eco-friendly platform for distributing flyers and marketing materials, while the stools and seating added functionality without compromising sustainability.
The Impact
The Metro Tunnel Mini Golf Activation successfully combined playfulness with sustainability, attracting audiences and reinforcing the importance of environmentally responsible design. By choosing a fully recyclable setup, Graffiti Group and Metro Tunnel demonstrated their commitment to sustainable activations, proving that high-impact experiences don’t have to come at the expense of the planet.
