The Semi Circle Cut Out Wall is a modular cardboard exhibition wall that features a curved opening built directly into the panel.

It uses the same structural system as our standard cardboard exhibition walls, but the curved cut-out adds depth and visual interest to what would otherwise be a flat wall surface. Instead of a continuous backdrop, the wall becomes a more architectural element within the space.

That opening can act as a viewing window, a framed product display, a visual break within a wall run, or even a photo moment depending on the installation.

Because it connects using the same modular pin system as our other walls, the semi circle wall can be integrated into larger exhibition layouts, brand activations, retail installations or stage sets.

It’s a simple modification to the wall system, but it creates a surprising amount of character in a space.

How It Works

Wall Dimensions

Each Semi Circle Cut Out Wall panel follows the same base dimensions as our standard exhibition walls.

Height: 2350mm

Width: 980mm per panel

Thickness options:

  •  200mm standard profile (allows screen or structural integration)
  • 100mm slim profile option

Each panel weighs approximately 4kg, making them easy to move during installation.

Panels are designed for indoor installations and can be combined to create larger structural layouts.

Panel Connection System

Panels connect using an internal pin system located at the top and bottom of each wall unit.

This allows panels to align securely while still remaining modular and reconfigurable.

Because each panel connects individually:

  • Small seams will be visible between panels
  • Wall runs can be extended by adding additional units
  • Corners and custom layouts can be created

The modular system also means walls can be disassembled, transported and reassembled for future events.

Stability and Footing

Wall panels are not freestanding on their own.

Stability is achieved using support feet, which are selected based on the layout and environment of the installation.

Common support options include:

  • Side support feet
  • Rear support feet
  • External weighting solutions when required

Footing requirements depend on traffic flow, installation layout and whether screens or other elements are integrated.

The Semi Circle Cut Out Feature

The curved cut-out is integrated directly into the wall panel.

This creates a framed opening within the wall that can be used in several ways, including:

  • viewing windows between zones
  • product display niches
  • interactive moments within an installation
  • visual framing for photography

When used within a larger wall run, the curved opening becomes a strong visual feature that helps break up long flat surfaces.

Customisation and Branding

Printed Graphics and Surface Finishes

The wall surface can be fully customised depending on the project.

Panels are commonly printed with:

  • brand graphics
  • exhibition storytelling panels
  • product information
  • retail graphics

For installations where full printing is not required, coloured surfaces or applied graphics can also be used.

Cut Out Design Options

While the semi circle opening is the standard design in this library entry, the size of the opening can be adjusted depending on the installation.

Some projects also incorporate additional elements into the opening, such as:

  • shelving
  • lighting
  • product displays
  • layered graphic elements

These details can transform the cut-out from a visual feature into an active part of the installation.

Wall Layout and Integration

Because the system is modular, semi circle panels can easily be combined with our other wall designs.

They are often integrated alongside:

  • standard wall panels
  • TV display walls
  • signage panels
  • custom structural walls

This allows designers to create layered environments rather than one continuous flat wall.

Typical Panel Sizes

Standard panel dimensions are:

Height: 2350mm

Width: 980mm per unit

Wall runs can be extended to almost any length by adding additional panels.

Approximate Pricing Guide

Pricing varies depending on graphics, quantity and customisation.

As a general guide:

$450 – $750 per wall panel

Most installations involve multiple panels and some level of customisation, so final project pricing will depend on the overall layout and design.

These figures are intended to help clients understand the typical scale of exhibition wall builds.

Sustainability

Recyclable Materials

Cardboard is one of the most widely recyclable materials available.

Our wall panels are produced using responsibly sourced cardboard that contains a high proportion of recycled fibre and can be recycled again at the end of its life.

Designed for Reuse

Because the system is modular, panels can often be reused across multiple events.

Many clients store their wall sets and redeploy them for touring exhibitions, repeated trade shows or seasonal retail installations.

Lightweight Transport

Cardboard structures are significantly lighter than traditional timber or steel exhibition builds.

This reduces transport emissions and makes shipping installations more efficient.

Supporting Responsible Event Design

Reducing event waste is becoming an important priority for many organisations.

Using reusable cardboard structures allows brands and event organisers to create large installations while minimising the environmental footprint of the build.

Ideal Applications

Trade Shows and Exhibition Stands

Semi circle cut-out panels work well within exhibition stands where visual interest is needed but wall surfaces are still required for branding.

Brand Activations

The curved opening encourages interaction and works well in experiential environments where people are moving through the installation.

Retail Pop Ups

Retail activations often use the opening as a framed product display or visual feature within the store environment.

Museums Installations

The design is well suited to gallery or museum environments where visitors move between different zones.

Theatre and Stage Sets

The curved opening creates visual depth on stage while still functioning as part of a modular set build.

Photo Moments and Interactive Installations

The opening naturally frames people within the space, which makes it a popular feature for branded photo moments.

FAQs

How strong are the cardboard wall panels?

The panels are engineered to be structurally stable when installed with the correct support feet. They are designed for indoor exhibition environments and can support printed graphics, lightweight shelving and integrated display elements.

Can the walls be reused for multiple events?

Yes. The modular system allows panels to be assembled and disassembled many times. Many clients store their walls and reuse them across multiple exhibitions or activations.

Can the semi circle opening be customised?

Yes. The size of the opening can be adjusted and additional elements such as shelving or lighting can be incorporated depending on the project.

Can the walls be printed with graphics?

Yes. Full surface digital printing is commonly used for exhibition graphics, brand messaging and large visual imagery.

Can the wall system be shipped interstate?

Yes. Because the panels are lightweight and modular they can be transported relatively easily. We regularly ship installations across Australia.

How long does production take?

Lead times depend on the scale of the installation and the level of customisation involved. Smaller wall runs can often be produced within a few weeks, while larger exhibition builds may require additional design and production time.

Can this wall connect with other Cardboard Mill wall systems?

Yes. The Semi Circle Cut Out Wall uses the same connection system as our other wall panels, so it can be integrated into larger modular wall installations.
