Circular signposts are a simple but effective way to guide people through a space.

They are commonly used at events, exhibitions and public installations where visitors need clear direction. You might see them pointing towards different zones, entrances, workshops or brand activations.

The circular shape makes the sign easy to read from multiple angles and gives designers a clean canvas for graphics, colours or icons. Because the signs are mounted on a freestanding pole and weighted base, they can be placed anywhere in a venue without needing to attach anything to walls or structures.

These signs are often used alongside cardboard event fencing, barriers or installations to create a consistent wayfinding system across a space.

How the Circular Signpost Works

The sign uses the same base and pole system as our event fencing and barrier structures.

A weighted base provides stability while a vertical pole supports the circular sign panel. This creates a freestanding sign that can be positioned wherever guidance or information is needed.

Circular sign panel

Each sign uses a round printed panel mounted to the top of the pole.

Two common sizes are available:

421mm diameter
Works well for compact spaces, small events or close viewing distances.

594mm diameter
Provides stronger visibility across larger spaces such as exhibitions, markets or conference halls.

Adjustable sign height

Different pole lengths can be used to raise the top of the sign depending on how visible it needs to be in the space.

Typical heights include:

1.2m high
Ideal for smaller venues, workshop spaces or indoor environments where signs need to sit within the flow of people.

1.5m high
A popular height for exhibitions and brand activations where the sign needs to be visible above tables or displays.

1.8m high
Best for busy environments such as festivals, trade shows or large halls where visibility across crowds is important.

Because the signs share the same base system as our fencing structures, they can easily integrate into larger installations.

Customisation and Branding

Circular signposts give designers a surprisingly flexible surface for branding and messaging.

The round format naturally draws attention and works well for simple visual communication.

Printed graphics

The circular panels can be printed with:

  • directional arrows

  • zone names

  • event branding

  • sponsor logos

  • icons and symbols

  • simple instructions

Because the surface is flat and clean, graphics tend to read clearly even from a distance.

Colour and visual style

The panel can be produced in a wide range of visual styles including:

  • brand colours

  • graphic patterns

  • bold typography

  • minimal directional graphics

Some projects keep the design very simple so the sign functions purely as wayfinding. Others treat the signs as part of the visual identity of the event.

Size and layout flexibility

The two circular sizes work well for most environments, but layouts can still vary.

Designers often combine multiple signs to create a clear wayfinding system across a venue. For example:

  • entrance signage

  • zone identification

  • directional arrows between spaces

  • workshop or activity signs

Because the signs are lightweight and modular, layouts can evolve as the event design develops.

Sustainability

Temporary signage is often used for only a few days and then discarded. Circular signposts are designed with a more responsible approach in mind.

The sign panels are made from recyclable cardboard and other responsibly sourced materials. Cardboard has a strong strength to weight ratio, which means structures can remain sturdy without relying on heavy materials.

This has a few practical advantages:

Recyclable materials

Cardboard components can be recycled through standard paper recycling streams after use.

Lightweight transport

The materials are significantly lighter than timber or metal signage. This reduces transport weight and makes installation easier for event crews.

Reuse potential

In many cases the base and pole structures can be reused across multiple events, with only the circular panels changing for each project.

This approach helps organisations reduce event waste while still achieving strong visual communication.

Many companies are now expected to consider their environmental and social impact when planning events. Choosing recyclable and reusable materials is one practical way to reduce the footprint of temporary installations.

Businesses that adopt responsible design practices are part of a broader shift towards a more regenerative economy that values people, communities and the planet alongside commercial outcomes.

Ideal Applications

Circular signposts are particularly useful wherever people need quick visual guidance through a space.

They are commonly used for:

Exhibitions and trade shows
Directional signs for booths, stages, lounges or breakout zones.

Brand activations
Wayfinding between different activity areas or product zones.

Festivals and public events
Helping visitors navigate food areas, stages, ticketing points or information desks.

Workshops and learning spaces
Marking stations, activity areas or group spaces.

Pop up events and temporary venues
Providing flexible signage without needing to install permanent fixtures.

Because the signs are freestanding, they can be repositioned quickly if the layout of the space changes.

FAQs

How stable are the signposts?

The bases are weighted and designed to support the pole and sign panel securely. They are stable for typical indoor event environments and controlled venues.

Can the signs be reused?

Yes. The base and pole structure can often be reused across multiple events. In many cases only the circular sign panel needs to be replaced when branding or messaging changes.

Can we print our own graphics?

Yes. The circular panels are designed to carry printed graphics. These can include logos, arrows, colours, icons or other event messaging.

Can these signs be shipped interstate?

Yes. The components are lightweight and modular, which makes them practical to transport between cities or venues.

How long does it take to produce?

Production timing depends on the number of signs and the level of customisation. For most projects we recommend allowing a few weeks so graphics, printing and assembly can be coordinated.

Can the signs integrate with other cardboard structures?

Yes. These signposts use the same base and pole system as our event fencing and barrier structures, so they can easily sit alongside larger cardboard installations.
